Tolullah Oni

Tolullah Oni is a noted urban epidemiologist and public health physician, born in Nigeria and now working as joint lead of the Global Diet and Activity Research Group, University of Cambridge and Honorary Associate Professor and Lead of the Research Initiative for Cities Health and Equity research group, University of Cape Town. She is Founder & Principal of UrbanBetter | Oni et al., an urban health practice and learning collaborative to health-proof the future of cities. Her work supports a coordinated approach between science, policy and societal actors, identifying creative long-term strategies to address complex urban health challenges in rapidly growing cities. She is a past co-Chair of the Global Young Academy and has served as scientific adviser for organisations including Future Earth and the International Science Council’s Urban Health and Wellbeing programme. She is an editorial board member of Lancet Planetary Health, Cities and Health, and the Journal of Urban Health, is a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences, a Next Einstein Forum Fellow and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
